Training, Education, Awareness

Purcell Tire considers education as the first step in safety, service, and an effective tire management program. To accomplish this, we offer a wide variety of courses in all areas of tire and wheel knowledge. Our workplace training and education programs are designed to: raise the learner’s awareness; change behavior to improve safety, quality, and productivity; increase efficiencies, reduce waste, and eliminate defects.

Tire and Wheel Safety Awareness 101: a foundational course for all team members offered annually to compensate for the turnover. Course goals are reducing risks of injury, cost reduction, and complying with best practices.

Tire and Wheel Maintenance: a course job-specific to site personnel such as maintenance technicians, tire fitters, engineers, operations, vehicle operators, and safety personnel. This course extends understanding of tires, safety, and actions to increase tire performance.

Vehicle Operator Best Practices
Contribute greatly to extended tire life. Industry best practices include: safety; avoiding site hazards; loading and dumping; controlling speed, navigating turns and inclines.

Preventive Maintenance Best Practices
In our view, management of a tire program is management of the risk of safety and environmental incidents, higher than necessary operating costs, adverse publicity, and loss of efficiency or productivity. The entire operation contributes to the success of achieving best-in-class status in these areas.
